Mary Washington's Dallas Tarkenton Earns All-America Honors in 100 Butterfly at NCAA Swimming Championships

Mary Washington junior Dallas Tarkenton finished in eighth place in the 100 yard butterfly on day two of the 2016 NCAA Division III Swimming Championships in Greensboro, N.C. on Thursday night, earning All-America honors. 

A pair of UMW women's relays also competed at the national meet on Thursday, with the 200 medley relay of seniors Katie Fago, Hannah Hagy, and Stephanie Hallock and junior Anna Corley placed 16th with a time of 1:45.64 and the 200 freestyle relay of Fago, Hagy, Hallock and junior Shannon Coryell placed 18th at 1:36.11. 

In the men's 100 butterfly, Tarkenton set a new conference and school record in his morning preliminary swim (48.55), and capped the evening with an eighth place time of 49.09 in the finals. 

Tarkenton becomes the 11th All-American in program history, and gives UMW an All-American swimmer for the men for the fifth straight year. 

A trio of CAC individuals and one relay will compete on Friday. The full list of competitors is below.
