Mary Washington Captures 18th Straight CAC Men's Swimming Title; Frostburg State's Christian March Repeats as Swimmer of the Year

Day 4 Results

Mary Washington totaled 905.5 points throughout the four-day meet en route to its 18th straight CAC men's swimming championship at St. Mary's. 

York placed second in the team standings with 743 points, followed by Salisbury in third with 485 points. St. Mary's (366.5), Frostburg State (331) and Marymount (252) rounded out the team scores on the men's side.

For the second-straight year, Frostburg State's Christian March was honored as the CAC Swimming Athlete of the Year. March tallied an individual victory in the 100 breaststroke and runner-up finishes in the 50 freestyle and 200 breaststroke to claim top honors at the championships. He is the seventh men's swimmer in CAC history to win multiple Athlete of the Year awards. 

Mary Washington head coach Abby Brethauer was selected by her peers as Coach of the Year for the fourth time in the last five years after leading the Eagles to yet another conference title. 

York's Keven Stahl picked up Rookie of the Year accolades after collecting five gold medals at the championship, three individually and two on relays. On Sunday, Stahl broke the CAC and championship meet records in the 1650 freestyle with an NCAA 'B' cut time of 15:48.01. Stahl is the third Spartan to have won Rookie of the Year. 

Salisbury's Joshua Brown notched his third individual gold of the championships on Sunday, winning the 100 IM in a CAC and championship meet record time of 52.33. Brown also won the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly earlier in the meet. 

York's Morgan Schreiber completed his sweep of the backstroke events on Sunday, taking gold in the 200 in 1:51.21, while Jesse Tate won the 200 butterfly for the Spartans with a time of 1:53.00. It marked the second individual golds for both Schreiber and Tate. 

Other individual champions during Sunday's action included Frostburg State's Luke Holloway in the 100 freestyle (46.94) and Mary Washington's Jeff Leckrone in the 200 breaststroke (2:02.35). 

The UMW 400 freestyle relay of Leckrone, Gareth Mancini, Kenyon Huber-Wilker, and Jeremy Robertson closed out the meet with a win in 3:06.46.
