FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- Salisbury junior Emily Allen and Salisbury junior Alexis Layton were tabbed as the CAC Softball Players of the Week for Feb. 18, 2019.

Salisbury junior Emily Allen hit .429 this week to help Salisbury to a 3-1 start to the year. She had a double, a triple, and drove in five runs in four games. Against No. 18 TCNJ, Allen went 3-for-4 with a double and scored a run to help the Sea Gulls to a 6-5 win against the ranked opponent.

Salisbury junior pitcher Alexis Layton made two starts this week, and earned two wins -- including the victory against No. 18 TCNJ. In the game, she struck out a pair in six-plus innings of work.
