Salisbury Senior Anna Hackett Named CAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week

YORK, Pa. -- Salisbury senior Anna Hackett was awarded as the CAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Nov. 24, 2014.

Hackett earned CAC Player of the Week honors after putting together a career week in a pair of Salisbury wins. In victories over Catholic and Virginia Wesleyan, Hackett averaged 29.5 points per game while shooting 61.3% from the field, 71.4% from three-point range, and 88.9% from the charity stripe. Against Catholic, she posted a game-high 26 points on 58.8% shooting, including 4-for-5 shooting from behind the arc, in a 63-36 victory. In a 71-61 triumph over Virginia Wesleyan, she helped the Sea Gulls snap a seven-game skid to the Marlins with a career-high 33 points on 64.3% shooting, including 14-for-16 from the free throw line.

Christopher Newport is the lone CAC team ranked in the preseason national polls, landing at No. 18 in both the D3hoops.com and WBCA/USA TODAY Coaches' Polls. York is receiving votes in both polls, with Salisbury receiving votes in the WBCA/USA TODAY rankings ... Christopher Newport senior Camry Green picked up two more double-doubles this week, giving her four in four games played this year. It is the second time in her career she has put up a double-double in four consecutive games ... Frostburg State senior Jasmine Walker poured in a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds in a loss to Juniata ... Mary Washington led at halftime before falling at Division I Navy.
