YORK, Pa. -- Salisbury senior Julia McLaughlin and York junior Sam Hruz were selected as the CAC Women's Basketball Co-Players of the Week for Dec. 14, 2015.

Salisbury senior Julia McLaughlin earned Co-CAC Player of the Week honors after leading the Sea Gulls to wins over Penn State Harrisburg and Washington College with averages of 17 points, 11 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game. Against Penn State-Harrisburg, McLaughlin posted 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead Salisbury to the 65-55 victory. On Saturday against Washington College, McLaughlin notched her second-straight double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds while also adding seven assists and five steals.

York junior Sam Hruz was selected as the Co-CAC Player of the Week after averaging a double-double in two wins to help the Spartans remain unbeaten on the year. Hruz opened the week with 12 points, a career-high tying 15 rebounds, three assists, a block and a steal in a non-conference win over Goucher. Against Mary Washington, Hruz recorded her fifth double-double of the year with 18 points, 13 rebounds and a school-record tying seven blocks. She was a perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line and added a pair of steals. For the week, Hruz averaged 15.0 points, 14.0 rebounds, 4.0 blocked shots, 1.5 assists, and 1.5 steals.

In the WBCA/USA TODAY Dec. 1 Coaches' Poll, Mary Washington (16), York (4) and Salisbury (1) each received votes ... Mary Washington (23) and York (2) received votes in the D3hoops.com Week 2 National Rankings ... York is the lone unbeaten team in the CAC with an 8-0 overall record and 3-0 in conference play, while Salisbury (3-0) and Marymount (2-0) are unbeaten in CAC play ... Christopher Newport defeated Virginia Wesleyan 83-73 in its only action of the week. Devon Byrd led all scorers with a career-high 21. Freshman Jessica Daguilh scored eight points and hauled in eight rebounds ... Senior guard Megan Green led Mary Washington with 14 points to go with five rebounds and four steals as the Eagles fell to York this weekend ... Marymount's Kievanna Lacey helped the Saints redeem an earlier season loss to Messiah with a blistering victory in the rematch on Wednesday, 71-38. Lacey posted a game-high 18 points, shooting 50% from the field, and added two assists, three rebounds, a steal, and a game-high two blocks. With her 18 points, she has still yet to fall beneath double figures in points in every game this season, averaging a career-high 17 points per game (first in the CAC) while shooting a career-high 56.6 percent from the field. The Saints have won three straight ... Kobe Chaney shined for St. Mary's in two losses as Chaney recorded consecutive double-doubles. She averaged 17.0 points and 12.5 rebounds per game and shot 76.2% from the field. Chaney has now registered three consecutive double-doubles for the Seahawks ... York improves to 8-0 for the third time in four years with wins over Goucher and Mary Washington this week. Sam Hruz has four straight double-doubles and five for the year ... Hruz tied Kristen Haley's school-record with her seven blocked shots against UMW.
