YORK, Pa. -- Mary Washington junior Kendall Parker was selected as the CAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Nov. 21, 2016.

Mary Washington junior Kendall Parker was selected as the CAC Player of the Week after leading the 22nd-ranked Eagles to a 3-0 start with an average of 23.3 points per game while shooting 52.9% from the field and 58.3% from behind the three-point line. She kicked off the season with 25 points in 25 minutes in a 79-64 win at Washington & Lee. She followed that performance by gaining MVP honors at the Hyatt Place Tipoff Tournament, scoring 30 points in 24 minutes, including seven three-pointers, in a 94-45 win over Alvernia. She closed the week with 15 points in a 73-53 win over Virginia Wesleyan. For the week, she led the Eagles in scoring in every game, shooting 18-for-34 from the field, including 14-for-24 on three-pointers. She also led the team with four assists against Alvernia.​

CNU is ranked No. 14 by the WBCA and No. 15 by D3hoops.com, while UMW is ranked No. 22 by the WBCA and No. 20 by D3hoops.com. Marymount is receiving votes in the D3hoops.com poll ... Mary Washington and Marymount captured tournament titles last week and are unbeaten at 3-0 on the year, while Christopher Newport is also umblemished at 2-0 ... Sam Porter led CNU to a pair of road victories over ODAC competition to start the season. She scored team-high 12 points in game one at Bridgewater, and grabbed team-high 13 rebounds in game two at Eastern Mennonite. Porter averaged 9.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.5 steals, and 1.0 block per game last week. The CNU defense held Bridgewater to 28.6% shooting and Eastern Mennonite to 26.7% from the field, while forcing 58 turnovers ... Frostburg State finished runner-up in the Jim Crawley Tournament. Kirsten Rayner leads the Bobcats in scoring (14.7 PPG) and rebounding (8.7 RPG) through the first three games ... Marymount junior Leah Hurst helped the Saints to a 3-0 start that included winning the Fourth Annual Pablo Coto Tip-Off Tournament and being named Tournament MVP. Hurst averaged 10.3 points per game on 44.4% shooting while also posting 5.3 rebounds and 3.3 steals per contest. She leads the CAC in assists per game and ranks fourth in total steals. Additionally, senior Kiki Laux was named to the All-Tournament team for the Saints ... Penn State Harrisburg's Sydney Gordon was named to the All-Tournament team at the Lebanon Valley Tip-Off Tournament ... In a 1-2 start for St. Mary's, Kerri Kline led the team in scoring 12.7 points per game and six three-pointers. Kline tallied a season-best 21 points in the win over Delaware Valley while adding four rebounds and three assists. Kobe Chaney was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Dan Greene Memorial Invitational hosted by St. Mary's ... Salisbury senior Lauren Rothfeld filled up the stat sheet for the Gulls in their 2-1 opening week, averaging 13.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.3 steals, and 2.7 assists per game ... Southern Virginia's Shelby Winsor leads the 1-2 Knights in scoring with 16.7 points per game and leads the CAC in rebounds at 10.3 per game. She posted two double-doubles in the opening weekend, already halfway to her total of four from last season ... Wesley's Brionna Johnson averaged 13.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in three games this week helping Wesley to a pair of victories. The senior forward netted 10 points, including the game-winning putback with 1.4 seconds remaining, to give Wesley a two-point win over Widener in the team's season opener ... York senior Sam Hruz led the Spartans to a 2-1 week to start the season, averaging 11.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 4.0 steals and 1.3 blocked shots per game. Hruz is now one blocked shot away from tying Kristen Haley for the Spartans' career record of 184. Her seven steals against Pitt-Greensburg established a new career high. The Spartans defeated McDaniel and Pitt-Greensburg before falling to Eastern in the championship game of the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic.
