FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- Southern Virginia sophomore forward Savanna Christensen was named Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Nov. 26, 2018.

In a short week for women's basketball, Southern Virginia University sophomore Savanna Christensen had a career week for the Knights in a non-conference matchup on the road at Eastern Mennonite. Christensen posted a double-double with a career-high 17 points, shooting 7-12 from the field including 3-7 from behind the arc and adding a new career-high with 15 rebounds. Christensen contributed on the defensive end collecting another career-high with five blocks on the night, helping the Knights secure the 75-70 victory.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Salisbury's Courtney Brigham was a catalyst off the bench for Salisbury's win over Stevenson University on November 20, shooting 50% from the floor and scoring 12 points over 27 minutes, while adding five rebounds, two steals and an assist...Christopher Newport's Sondra Fan scored a game-high 15 points in just 12 minutes of action against Meredith College as the Captains improved to 5-0 with an 86-47 win over the Avenging Angels ... Added four steals, two rebounds and an assist for the Captains while shooting 46.7% (7-15)...Mary Washington's Maddie Shifflett led Mary Washington to a 64-49 win over Lynchburg on Tuesday. She scored a game-high 15 points on 7-13 shooting, with one three pointer. She added four rebounds and a pair of blocked shots...Frostburg State's Victoria Diggs posted 24 points in a loss to Hiram on 9-of-16 from the field and 6-of-13 from three-point range.
