Junior Sarah Crockett Adds 2 More All-America Awards For Mary Washington; Eagles Finish NCAA Swim Championships With 9 Awards

The University of Mary Washington swim teams closed the NCAA Division III National Championships in fine style, gaining two more All-America performances on Saturday. Junior Sarah Crockett finished 11th in the 200 yard backstroke at 2:04.64, and the women's 400 yard free relay took 12th at 3:30.95.

Junior Adriana Lesiuk finished 30th in the 100 yard freestyle at 52.76. Junior Stephen Clendenin finished 21st in the 200 yard backstroke at 1:51.91, while freshman Nick Eckhoff took 37th at 1:53.95. Megan DeSmit took 25th in the 200 yard breaststroke at 2:25.38, while Cameron Figuers took 29th at 2:26.86.

The Eagle women finished the championships in 20th place with 62 points, while the men, with two competitors, placed 52nd with five points.

A pair of St. Mary's swimmers competed in three events each at the 2010 NCAA championships, but failed to earn All-America status as a top 16 finisher.  On the final day, SMC senior Rachel Hotchko finished 44th in the 100 freestyle trials (54.21).  Freshman Kelly Heyde competed in an event on each of the first three days of the championship.
