Mary Washington senior Shannon Coryell was honored as the CAC Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week after notching three individual and three relay victories in a pair of lopsided dual-meet wins for the Eagles. Against Randolph-Macon, Coryell won the 100 butterfly (1:00.82) and was part of winning relays in the 200 medley (1:53.71) and 200 freestyle (1:42.61). Against Frostburg State, Coryell picked up individual wins in the 50 freestyle (24.98) and 100 freestyle (54.19), and anchored the winning 200 medley relay (1:50.82). Coryell's 100 freestyle time ranks 27th nationally, while the 200 freestyle relay and 200 medley relay times rank 16th in Division III.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

All six CAC teams have began the 2016-17 season ... All six teams have opened CAC competition as well, with Mary Washington, Marymount, and York posting conference-opening victories ... In two meets last week, Frostburg State sophomore Maddie Weinberger posted two wins against Mary Washington in the 50-yard breastsroke (31.83) and the 200-yard breastroke (2:31.25). Against Alderson-Broaddus and W&J, she won the 200-meter medley relay (2:09.17; school-record), the 200-meter breaststroke (2:51.11; school record) and the 100-meter breaststroke (1:18.83) ... Mary Washington head coach Abby Brethauer won her 100th career meet on Saturday ... Marymount freshman Hayley Elizondo had a great first collegiate meet, taking two first-place individual finishes and a top finish in a relay. Elizondo placed first in the 200-yard breast (2:34.81) and the 200-yard IM (2:16.04) to lead the Saints in the individual races, while teaming up in the 400-yard medley relay after touching the wall at 4:12.32 ... In a defeat to York, Salisbury senior Victoria Radcliffe posted individual first-place finishes in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.49) and 200 IM (2:15.12), while also teaming with Emma Tarnosky, Layne Gable and Bizu Baldinazzo to claim first place in the 400-yard medley relay, recording a time of 4:14.09 ... York defeated Salisbury 148-114 in its lone dual meet of the week. Maddy Mann recorded a pair of individual wins for the Spartans in the 200 freestyle (1:59.54) and 100 freestyle (54.70).
