Junior Justine Wantz had another big weekend at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational this past weekend in Lancaster. Wantz earned a win and notched a second place finish as the Spartans finished third of 13 teams at the event. Wantz won the 200 backstroke in a time of 2:02.97 as she now owns the top time in the event in the CAC. That time is the fourth best time in the country. She set a new school record in the 100 backstroke with her time of 57.86 in Saturday's preliminary. Wantz swam a time of 57.88 in the finals which was good for second. That time is the 11th fastest time in the country. Wantz also set a school record in the 50 backstroke with her opening split of 27.04 in the 200 medley relay. Wantz also swam leadoff on three relay teams that all earned top six finishes.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Mary Washington finished second at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational, and Carley Vaughn finished first in the 200 yard butterfly at 2:07.49...In Salisbury's two meets, Natalie Eakin claimed one individual victory and three relay victories. Against Washington College, Eakin won the 100-meter backstroke and was a part of the team that placed first in the 200-meter freestyle relay. Against Penn State Altoona, Eakin was a part of both the 200-meter medley relay team and 200-meter freestyle relay team that placed first...Frostburg State's Elizabeth Demonte collected two wins against St. Mary's in the 100 backstroke (1:09.38) and the 100 butterfly (1:09.06). She then set two school records in the 100 backstroke (1:01.01) and the 100 butterfly (1:00.01) at the F&M Invitational...St. Mary's Brenna Litynski captured the 200 freestyle in 1:57.99 while posting a second-place finish in the 500 freestyle in 5:20.91 against Washington College. Against McDaniel she finished first in the 150 yard free by swimming a 1:26.33. She would also take first in the 100 yard free with a time of 54.07.
