Wesley Sophomore Elizsha Streeter and Salisbury Sophomore Ashley Jackson Receive CAC Women's Track & Field Weekly Honors

YORK, Pa. -- Wesley sophomore Elizsha Streeter and Salisbury sophomore Ashley Jackson were named the CAC Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week for Dec. 9, 2014.

Wesley sophomore Elizsha Streeter was named CAC Track Athlete of the Week after recording the third-fastest time in the nation in the 200 meters at the Ursinus Bow-Tie Classic. Streeter finished the 200 in 26.31, took third place in the 400 meters, and contributed to the first-place 4x400 relay squad. Her performance helped the Wolverines captured third place in the team standings in a field of 20 teams. All three of Streeter's opening-weekend marks rank atop the CAC.

Ashley Jackson | Salisbury | So. 

Bel Air, Md. | Bohemia Manor 

Salisbury sophomore Ashley Jackson was selected as the CAC Field Athlete of the Week after breaking two school records in her two events at the CNU Holiday Open. Jackson tied for 10th in the long jump with a distance of 16'-8.5", breaking the previous SU mark by six inches. She then notched fourth in the triple jump with a 37'-1.25" effort, passing the previous school record by just under two feet.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Six CAC teams opened their indoor seasons this past weekend ... Christopher Newport junior Lydia Cromwell won the 5000 meters at the CNU Holiday Open, clocking in at 18:41.75, which places her fourth on CNU's all-time list and stands as the fastest effort by a Captain in eight years ... Frostburg State posted four wins at the Marty Pushkin Track Classic at West Virginia University. Sophomore Carol Gotte took first place in the 3000 meters (13:21.94), freshman Kayla Truesdal captured a victory in the 200-meter dash in 26.93, freshman Avery Scofield won the 800 meters in 3:29.28, while Erin Early cruised to victory in the 60-meter hurdles (9.87) ...  Salisbury sophomore Sarah Taylor broke her own school record in the pole vault, taking fourth at the CNU Holiday Open with a mark of 10'-11.75" ... Wesley recorded five event victories and four school-records at the Ursinus Bow-Tie Classic. Taking home gold medals were sophomore Taylor Rae Danforth in the pole vault, freshman Ashley Morris is the 60m hurdles, freshman Quadira Minus in the 500 meters, sophomore Elizsha Streeter in the 200-meter dash and the 4x400m relay. Danforth, Morris, Minus and the relay team all set school-records in their victories ... York finished ninth at the Bow Tie Classic, led by record-setting performances from freshman Ericka Quenzer and the 4x200 meter relay team. Quenzer placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles at 9.61, while the 4x200 team of Quenzer, Bria Jones, Emily Plante and Anne Measley set a new school mark of 1:52.61.
