FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- ​Salisbury's Jamie Farley & Penn State Harrisburg's Sarah Lehman were honored as the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Feb. 12, 2019. The 2019 CAC Indoor Track & Field Championships take place this Friday & Saturday (Feb. 15-16) inside the Freeman Center on the campus of Christopher Newport University.

​Salisbury senior Jamie Farley turned in a solid performance at the Eastern Shore Combined Events Meet this past weekend as she captured a second-place finish in the 400-meter dash coming home in a time of 59.00. She went on to help the 4x200-meter relay team earn a third place finish completing the race in 1:48.14. This is the second time this season Farley has earned CAC Athlete of the Week honors.

Penn State Harrisburg's Sarah Lehman turned in an historic performance at the Bucknell Tune Up just one week out from the 2019 CAC Indoor Championships. The sophomore broke her own conference and program record in the triple jump on four of her five attempts before finishing off the night with a top bound of 11.60 meters. Her mark also currently ranks her eighth in the nation in the event. The only Division III competitor in the event, Lehman easily won the triple jump, beating out competitors from Division I schools including Bucknell and Lehigh, after just missing out on a top-five finish in the long jump earlier in the evening thanks to her best leap of 5.28 meters. This marks the third time this season Lehman has earned CAC Athlete of the Week accolades.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Christopher Newport's Monica Lannen posted the conference's top time in the mile during the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University on Friday. During the race, she finished in 5:08.28, which cut nearly seven seconds off her own PR. It also stands as the best time by a runner in the CAC since former teammate Logan Harrington established the conference record of 5:01.24 in 2017. Overall, Lannen now stands fifth on the school's all-time performance list in the mile, jumping former All-American Dira Hansen...Frostburg's Camryn Blake posted her first win of her career with a victory in the 200-meter dash (27.31) at the 3rd Annual Larry Sharpe Memorial at Hagerstown C.C., Sunday...York's Jess DelViscio had a great race in the 1,000 at the Monmouth University Winter Collegiate Invitational on Saturday. DelViscio set a new school record in the 1,000 meter race with a time of 3:04.98. That enabled DelViscio to finish second in the race...Salisbury's Kyleigh Dumas turned in a solid performance at the Eastern Shore Combined Events Meet hosted by University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Dumas not only picked up a victory in the pole vault but also broke the school record in the even clearing the bar at a height at 11' 8." Dumas's new height broke the record she previously set at 11' 7.75" earlier this season. With her height she is atop the CAC heading into the conference championships...Southern Virginia's Baylee Mulitalo remains atop the CAC in the shot put after throwing for another new school record of 13.09m placing fifth at the 2019 VMI Winter Relays. She currently sits 18th nationally in the event...Mary Washington's Victoria Chanthayasak-White finished fifth in the high jump at the VMI Winter Relays as the top Division III finisher at four feet, 11 inches.
