Frostburg State Senior JT Tipton and Salisbury Senior Jeff Oster Earn CAC Baseball Weekly Honors
YORK, Pa. -- Frostburg State senior JT Tipton and Salisbury senior Jeff Oster were selected as the CAC Baseball Players of the Week for March 13, 2017.

Frostburg State senior JT Tipton was chosen as the CAC Player of the Week after hitting .765 in a 2-1 week for the Bobcats. Tipton finished the week 13-for-17 at the plate with four RBIs, three runs scored, three stolen bases, two doubles, and a walk. In a win over Stevenson, he finished 5-for-6 with three runs and a double.

Salisbury senior Jeff Oster grabbed CAC Pitcher of the Week honors for the second time this year after recording 10 strikeouts and allowing just five hits and one run in a CAC victory over St. Mary's last week. He threw seven innings in the win, retiring the first 14 batters he faced. Oster took a perfect game into the fifth frame before allowing the first hit of the day.

Several non-conference contests have been postponed on Tuesday due to an impending snow storm in the Mid-Atlantic region. Christopher Newport sophomore Thomas Packert started and picked up the win against Southern Virginia and also earned a save against Marymount last week in a 3-1 week for the Captains ... Senior Brian Burns turned in a banner week for Mary Washington, as the Eagles won two of three contests. The senior outfielder batted .462 (6-for-13), with two doubles, two walks, two stolen bases, and four runs scored. In addition, Burns produced outfield assists at home plate in games against Shenandoah, and another throw from right field prevented the tying run from scoring late ... Marymount's Collin Bazemore had a career day on Sunday in game one against Christopher Newport, tossing 6.1 innings in his start for a career-high 11 strikeouts ... St. Mary's junior Matt Bieler recorded four hits, two runs scored, and three RBIs last week ... Salisbury's Scott Ardoin tallied a team-high five RBIs last weekend in a CAC sweep over St. Mary's. Ardoin leads the Sea Gulls with 15 RBIs this season ... Wesley's Chris Seibert hit .444 (8-for-18) with a home run, three doubles, seven RBIs and three runs scored in four games for the Wolverines. Seibert also recorded a .524 on-base percentage and a .778 slugging percentage. Alex Marrs went 1-1 last week on the mound for Wesley, striking out 10 in his two appearances.
