FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- Salisbury junior Jimmy Monaghan & Southern Virginia junior Riley Daniels earned CAC baseball weekly awards for March 11, 2019.  

Player of the Week

Jimmy Monaghan | Salisbury | Jr. | INF

Salisbury's Jimmy Monaghan hit a robust .818 (9-for-11) while recording three hits in each of his three starts for the Sea Gulls. Monaghan accounted for a double, a run scored, two RBI and two walks with his efforts.

Southern Virginia's Riley Daniels week made history for the Knights as he threw a no-hitter in his second start of the season allowing only two walks. In his seven innings, Daniels collected six K's while throwing a complete game in the 7-0 victory. Daniels followed up his astounding day at the mound followed by hitting a three-run homer.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Frostburg State's Jared Mouton hit .333 with five RBI last week as Frostburg swept Eastern...York's Austin Delinger hit .400 as the Spartans went 3-1 during their spring trip this past week. Delinger went 6-for-15 with five runs scored, two doubles, two triples, two RBI and six walks. Delinger had a .571 on-base percentage and a .800 slugging percentage. Delinger has a big game in the win over Lehman as he was 3-for-5 with three runs scored, a double, a triple and two RBI...Mary Washington's Garrett Lyons had a pair of hits in three at bats, including a double, and added a stolen base in UMW's lone game last week… Tyler Ray also provided a single and double, and Christian Hague homered for the Eagles...Southern Virginia's Bridger Taylor anchored the Knights' offense over the past three games, hitting .545, collecting six hits including a double, triple and a pair of homers combining for five RBI's. Taylor's performance helped the Knights go 3-0 for the week and improve to 7-2 overall...York's Bobby Kuehn twirled eight strong innings in leading the Spartans to a win over Lehman in his only action of the week. Kuehn tossed eight innings, allowing on unearned run on six hits with nine strikeouts and two walks as he picked up his first win of the year...Salisbury's Jimmy Adkins started and pitched 8 2/3 innings against Virginia Wesleyan University on Tuesday, March 5. Adkins received a no-decision after leaving the 2-2 tied outing in the ninth inning, having collected six strikeouts and no walks in the effort...Christopher Newport's Tyler Jumper appeared in two games this week for the Captains in long relief roles ... Struck out 9 batters and allowed just three hits over 8.2 innings of relief ... Picked up the win against Eastern Mennonite after entering with one out in the second inning and proceeded to shut down the Royals through the 7th inning ... Struck out six Royals while giving up just one hit and one walk in the game ... Then returned to the mound against Catholic and struck out three Cardinals in three shutout innings ... Improved to 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA in 7 appearances this season with 14 strikeouts in 13.2 innings of work ... Holding opponents to a .160 BAA
