YORK, Pa. -- Mary Washington senior Jenna Steele and Wesley senior Kayla Fromal were honored as the CAC Field Hockey Players of the Week for Oct. 5, 2015.

Mary Washington senior Jenna Steele was selected as the CAC Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight week after tallying four goals and one assist in the 13th-ranked Eagles 7-3 CAC victory at York on Saturday. Steele's fourth goal of the day broke the UMW career goals scored record of 59, set by Jessica Morris in 1998-2001. Her 60 career goals now ranks sixth on the CAC all-time list, and she is now one point shy of Morris' career points record of 145.

Wesley senior Kayla Fromal was selected as the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after posting a 10-save shutout in the Wolverines only contest of the week. In a 3-0 non-conference victory over Drew, Fromal recorded her fifth double-digit save performance of the season and her third in four contests. The shutout was her second of the year.

CAC play heats up this week with four conference matchups, including three next Saturday ... Salisbury is ranked No. 3 in the Penn Monto / National Field Hockey Coaches Association Poll, with Mary Washington (No. 13) and Christopher Newport (No. 15) also in the top 20 ... Frostburg State senior Alexandra Darrow notched four goals in a 6-1 victory over Bethany in the Bobcats' only action of the week ... The Salisbury at Frostburg State CAC matchup was postponed on Sunday due to inclement weather ... York went 1-1 last week with a 3-2 overtime win over Dickinson and a CAC loss to Mary Washington. Freshman Lindsay Nye scored twice including the OT game-winner vs. Dickinson, and added a goal and an assist against UMW. York goalkeeper Ty McCloskey totaled 20 saves in two games last week including a career-high 11 in the loss to Mary Washington.
