Chris Rogers Named Men's Basketball Coach At Marymount University

H. Christopher Rogers was named the Marymount University head men’s basketball coach, according to athletic director Bill Finney. Rogers is the fourth coach in the 22 seasons of MU men’s basketball.

The class of 2009 was inducted on May 2 in a ceremony on campus. The four student athletes (Brown, Coto, Epstein and Grimes were inducted into the Hall of Fame. Dr. Linda McMahon was the second person to be inducted into the Hall of Friends. The talented group were each honored by master of ceremonies, Scott Benson (class of '91) and then introduced by a coach.

Marymount men’s head coach for men’s basketball, Scott McClary resigned from his position, effective May 15, 2009, according to athletic director, Bill Finney. McClary will take a similar position at his alma mater, Muhlenberg College.

The Wesley College athletic department held its annual Senior Awards Ceremony on Friday evening at the Schwartz Center. Angie Owens of the women's basketball team was named the Female Athlete of the Year after setting the single season record at Wesley with 332 rebounds. Men's basketball's Rashawn Johnson and football's Sean Matthews shared the Male Athlete of the Year Award.

The most recent NCAA News talks about perhaps the single most important facet of the NCAA championships selection process: the data. In recent years, the NCAA’s selection process at the Division III level has been, at times, laughable. How else do you explain tournaments where the brackets keep changing after they’ve been released, where the number of teams in each pool needs correction, and the regional rankings are based on incorrect records? This past offseason, the Capital Athletic Conference proposed a way to end all of this embarrassment: Release the data.
