York junior Matt Scamuffo was selected as the CAC Player of the Week after averaging 31.5 points per game on 59.4% (19-for-32) shooting from the floor and 87.5% shooting (14-for-16) from the free throw line in a 1-1 week for the Spartans. Scamuffo also knocked down 5.5 three-pointers per game at a 47.8% (11-for-23) clip. He began the week by tying his career-high with 32 points and draining seven three-pointers in the Spartans' 88-84 win at St. Mary's. In Saturday's game at Mary Washington, Scamuffo tossed in 31 points with four triples and three assists.

In the D3hoops.com week 7 rankings, Christopher Newport is ranked No. 3 and Salisbury is ranked No. 17 ... Tim Daly led third-ranked CNU to two CAC wins last week over Mary Washington and Frostburg State with averages of 15.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. CNU has won eight straight games since the holiday break and Wednesday's victory over Mary Washington was the 20th-straight home win at the Freeman Center dating back to December of 2015 ... Frostburg State's Rhashad Johnson scored a season-high 23 points in the Bobcats' one-point win over Southern Virginia ... Junior forward Eric Shaw scored 25 points as Mary Washington topped York on Saturday ... Marymount junior Dimitri Rucker helped the Saints to a 1-1 week, defeating Penn State Harrisburg in overtime before falling on a last-second three pointer on Saturday against No. 17 Salisbury. Rucker averaged 10 points, 6.5 blocks and three blocks per game last week, including a double-double effort against the Sea Gulls with 10 points and 10 rebounds while swatting away four blocks ... St. Mary's freshman Matt Ayoub has now scored in double digits in nine straight games. Salisbury senior Justin Witmer buried a three-pointer from the top of the key with 0.4 seconds left to lift the Sea Gulls past Marymount, 57-56 ... Southern Virginia freshman Rashay Douglas poured in a career-high high 26 points against Wesley in his second start of the year. Douglas leads the Knights this season in scoring with 13.6 points per game, including 21 points per game last week. He also leads the team in 3PT% and ranks second in FG% ... Wesley freshman guard Brian Cameron paced the Wolverine offense in their split of two conference games last week. Cameron led all scorers in the game against Salisbury with 27 points on 10-of-15 from the field, and added eight rebounds and four steals. He ranks seventh in the conference in points per game, averaging 14.4 points per contest.
