York's Jason Bady Collects Second Consecutive CAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week Award

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- York senior guard Jason Bady earned Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors for Feb. 18, 2019. This is the second straight week and third time this season Bady has received this honor.

York senior guard Jason Bady capped his regular season with another pair of masterful performances for the Spartans as York captured a share of their second straight CAC regular season championship. Bady began the week with his fourth double-double of the year in the road win at Frostburg. Bady had 24 points and 13 rebounds in his 40 minutes of work. Bady wss 7-for-14 from the floor and 9-for-10 from the line. He added two assists, a block and a steal in the win. He followed that with a game-winning performance in the home win over Mary Washington. Bady hit a pair of free throws with 4.1 seconds left to give the Spartans their final margin of victory. He finished the day with 14 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and a trio of blocked shots including a monster block and rebound in the final 30 seconds that helped the Spartans earn the win over the Eagles. For the week, Bady averaged 19 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.5 steals, and 2.0 blocks per game. He shot 50% from the floor and 82.4% from the free throw line.

Frostburg State's Edwin Cole scored his 1,000th career point on Thursday in a loss to York ... He is the 20th player in the 77-year history of the program to score over 1,000...Christopher Newport's Marcus Carter Captains in minutes played during a pair of wins to clinch the team's fourth straight CAC regular season title ... Scored 16.0 ppg and added 5.5 rpg, 4.0 apg, 2.5 spg, and 1.5 bpg ... Shot 60% from the field (12-20), 50% from three (5-10), and knocked down 3-of-5 free-throws for good measure ... Led CNU in pair of road victories at Salisbury and Penn State Harrisburg as the Captains won six straight games to end the regular season and earn a share of the league title...Salisbury's Lucas Martin averaged 13.5 points per game this weekend, including a 21-point effort against Frostburg St., in the win that sealed the No. 4 seed and a home game in the upcoming CAC tournament. He also grabbed 10 rebounds in the game as well, for a double-double...Mary Washington's Greg Rowson scored 18.0 PPG this wee for Mary Washington, netting 16 in a 66-41 win at Southern Va., and adding 20 in a 76-74 loss at York. For the week, he shot 52% from the field...
