Penn State Harrisburg Junior Aaron Kline and Salisbury Sophomore Hassan Mostafa Earn CAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week Awards

YORK, Pa. -- Penn State Harrisburg junior Aaron Kline and Frostburg State sophomore Hassan Mostafa were named the CAC Men's Soccer Players of the Week for Oct. 13, 2014.  

Offensive Player of the Week

Penn State Harrisburg junior Aaron Kline was named the CAC Offensive Player of the Week after scoring all three of the Lions goals in CAC victories over York and No. 25 Salisbury. Kline began the week with a pair of scores in Penn State Harrisburg's 2-1 win over York last Wednesday, the Lions first-ever CAC win. In a Saturday matchup against nationally-ranked Salisbury, Kline delivered the game-winner in the 78th minute to hand the Sea Gulls their first defeat of the season.

Frostburg State sophomore Hassan Mostafa was honored as the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after posting two shutouts with 19 saves in a 1-0-1 week. Mostafa opened the week with seven saves in a 1-0 win against Mary Washington. He then registered 12 stops in a 0-0 draw with ninth-ranked Christopher Newport for his second consecutive shutout, raising his season shutout total to seven.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Christopher Newport cracked the top-10 of last week's NSCAA National Rankings at #9, while Salisbury is ranked #25 ... In the D3soccer.com top 25, Christopher Newport is ranked #12 and Salisbury is #16 ... Against Southern Virginia, Christopher Newport senior forward Jalon Brown posted his second hat trick of the season and with his third goal of the match, surpassed Winston Mattheisen's all-time scoring mark to become the program's all-time leader with 119 career points. He and Patrick Burns each posted hat tricks, marking just the fourth time in program history, and first since 2005, that two players have registered hat tricks in the same game ... Sophomore Riley Fisher scored a pair of goals - including the game winner with 51 seconds elapsed in overtime - to lift Mary Washington past York, 3-2, for the Eagles' first win over the Spartans since 2003. Fisher now has five goals on the season.
