Christopher Newport senior Justin Cerny was named the CAC Player of the Week after going 2-0 in singles and doubles in wins over Centre and Virginia Wesleyan. Against Centre, Cerny paired with David Reed for an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles and earned a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles. Then, with Reed out against Virginia Wesleyan, Cerny slotted down to No. 2 doubles with William Trang for an 8-1 win and moved up to No. 1 singles, earning a 6-2, 6-2 win for his first win at No. 1 this year.

In the ITA National Team Rankings, Mary Washington is ranked No. 16 and Christopher Newport is No. 36 ... Mary Washington junior Ryland Byrd picked up victories in singles and doubles as Mary Washington topped No. 40 Washington & Lee, 5-4, on Saturday in Lexington. Byrd was victorious at one doubles with Michael Fleming, 8-4, and also took a 6-1, 6-3 win at five singles to help the Eagles to victory ... Salisbury defeated Occidental 5-4 in its lone match of the week. Sophomore Ian Siew and his doubles partner Matthew Ryan won 8-3 at No. 2 doubles, and Siew continued his success in the singles matches playing in the No. 2 spot as he posted a 6-0, 6-3 win.
