FREDERICKBURG, Va. -- Salisbury sophomore Branson Oduor secured CAC Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week accolades for Sept. 19, 2017.

Salisbury sophomore Branson Oduor secured CAC Athlete of the Week honors after taking third place out of 315 runners at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational over the weekend. Oduor crossed the finish in a time of 25:26.31 to earn the third-place finish. It was Oduor's best finish of the season for the maroon and gold and helped SU to third place in the team standings.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Christopher Newport is ranked No. 9 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Rankings ... Calvin Miller led CNU at the William & Mary Invitational after finishing 37th overall - and first among Division III competitors - in the 6k with a time of 20:01.09. Guided by that effort, CNU finished fourth overall at the meet, placing just behind Division I programs Charlotte, George Washington, and Norfolk State ... Wesley's Anthony Anastasi tallied a ninth-place finish at Delaware State's Farm Run Invitational with a time of 17:11.4 with an average mile of 5:32 ... Alex Smith was York's leading finisher at Saturday's D2/D3 Challenge Invitational in Kutztown. Smith finished 36th in the event as the Spartans finished sixth overall of 19 teams and first among the seven Division III squads at the event. Smith clocked in with a time of 27:59 as he was the third Division III finisher in the 194 runner field.
