YORK, Pa. -- York senior Sam Hruz was awarded as the CAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Nov. 28, 2016.

York senior Sam Hruz was awarded as the CAC Player of the Week after leading the Spartans to a 2-0 week with averages of 10.5 points, 14.0 rebounds, 5.5 blocks, and 2.0 assists per game. Hruz began the week with 12 points, 15 rebounds, four assists, five blocks and one steal in 29 minutes in a win over Goucher. She became the Spartan all-time leader in blocked shots in the win, passing former Spartan Kristen Haley with her 185th blocked shot. Hruz then had nine points, 13 rebounds, two assists and six blocked shots in a victory over Lebanon Valley. Currently, Hruz leads the CAC in rebounding and blocked shots and ranks fourth in both assists per game and steals per game.

In Salisbury's lone game of the week, senior Lauren Rothfeld led the Sea Gulls to victory with team-highs in points (17), rebounds (9), and steals (5). Rothfeld scored seven of her points in the fourth quarter to close out the game and give Salisbury the victory ... Southern Virginia's Shelby Winsor posted her third double-double of the year, helping the Knights to their second-straight overtime win, a 93-90 triumph over Roanoke. Winsor leads the Knights in ppg, rpg, fg% and minutes played ... Wesley's Tiyanna Gibbs led the Wolverines to a pair of wins this week, averaging 14.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, and two steals per game. The junior scored 12 points and pulled in seven rebounds against Rosemont and followed that performance with a 17-point, 12-board double-double in a win over Arcadia on Sunday. Gibbs has recorded a pair of double-doubles and has netted at least 12 points in all but one of Wesley's games, leading the Navy and White to a 4-1 start to the season.
