YORK, Pa. -- Christopher Newport senior Enuma Ezenwa and Mary Washington senior Claire Harrington were named the CAC Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week for Jan. 20, 2015.

Christopher Newport senior Enuma Ezenwa was named CAC Track Athlete of the Week after putting together several strong performances at the Liberty Open last weekend. Ezenwa posted the top time among non-Division I athletes in the 60-hurdles after finishing in 9.37 seconds, which ranks 25th in the nation this year. She also placed sixth in the 200 with a time of 27.59, helped the 4x400-relay team finish second in 4:17.67, and tied for third in the high jump after clearing 4'-11".

Mary Washington senior Claire Harrington was honored as the CAC Field Athlete of the Week after taking second in the women's pole vault at the Maryland Terrapin Invitational on Saturday in the Eagles' first meet of the year. Harrington posted a mark of 10'-10" to claim second place. Her vault ranks second in the CAC and 30th in the nation.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Five CAC teams opened the 2015 portion of their indoor seasons this past weekend ... In just her second collegiate appearance, Christopher Newport's Lillie Cummings moved into sixth place on the program's all-time performance list in the weight throw with a distance of 12.61 meters on Friday at the Liberty Open. That effort marked the longest throw by a Captain in five years ... Frostburg State's Kayla Truesdel won the 60-meter dash in 8.08 at the West Virginia Invitational ... Mary Washington freshman Janel Moore ran the 300 meters in a school record time of 43.62 seconds at the Maryland Terrapin Invitational on Saturday. Sophomore Teagan Young placed second in the 5,000 meters with a time of 17:56 ... York competed at the Susquehanna Maroon and Orange Classic, led by freshman Ericka Quenzer's fourth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.71.
