Christopher Newport Sophomore Hannah Miller Earns CAC Volleyball Player of the Week Accolades

YORK, Pa. -- Christopher Newport sophomore Hannah Miller was named the CAC Volleyball Player of the Week for Sept. 9, 2014.

Christopher Newport sophomore Hannah Miller was awarded as the CAC Volleyball Player of the Week after leading the Captains to the Mary Washington Invitational title with a perfect 4-0 mark last weekend. Against No. 11 Eastern, she posted a season-high 19 kills and six blocks while hitting .528. During that contest, she set a new CNU record for most kills in a match without a single attack error. Later, she continued her perfect run with seven kills - and no errors - against Geneva. The following day, she had 15 kills and hit .333 against Randolph-Macon and 17 kills and a .433 mark against Lynchburg. Overall, she led the Captains with 58 kills, 14 blocks, and a .442 hitting percentage during the tournament, earning All-Tournament team honors for her efforts.

Marymount sophomore Emileigh Rettig collected Tournament MVP honors at the Guetle Invitational at Catholic as the Saints rolled to a 4-0 weekend.
