YORK, Pa. -- Marymount sophomore Caroline Hanson and St. Mary's senior Mimi Graf were honored as the CAC Volleyball Co-Players of the Week for Oct. 24, 2016 after both recorded triple-doubles last week.

Marymount sophomore Caroline Hanson was honored as the CAC Volleyball Co-Player of the Week after helping the Saints to a 3-0 week with stellar all-around performances that included her third triple-double of the season. Hanson put away 22 kills, 74 assists, four service aces, 43 digs, and nine total blocks in wins over Catholic, Southern Virginia, and Frostburg State. Against Catholic, she notched a triple-double with 11 kills, 28 assists and 18 digs while also adding five block assists and a service ace. She notched double-doubles in the other two contests, with 19 assists, 10 digs, five kills, two service aces and two block assists vs. Southern Virginia, and 27 assists, 15 digs, six kills, and two blocks against Frostburg State. Her three triple-doubles on the year ranks seventh in the nation.

St. Mary's senior Mimi Graf was named the CAC Volleyball Co-Player of the Week after collecting her sixth career triple-double in a 3-1 week for the Seahawks. Graf notched 22 assists, 17 digs, and a career-best 14 kills in a 3-1 win at Frostburg State. She also posted double-doubles against Stevenson and Southern Virginia. For the week, Graf averaged 2.21 kills, 6.43 assists, and 3.14 digs per game while adding eight total blocks, including a season-best four block assists in a sweep of Goucher.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Mary Washington is ranked No. 14 and Christopher Newport is ranked No. 20 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top-25 ... With one week remaining in the CAC regular season, five of the six playoff spots have been secured. Mary Washington (7-0), Marymount (5-1), Salisbury (5-1), Christopher Newport (5-2), and St. Mary's (5-2) have solidified playoff spots, while the sixth spot remains up for grabs ... CNU's Hope Webb led the Captains to four sweeps during the week while guiding the team's attack. The freshman posted 96 assists and helped CNU hit .259 during the week, including two of the team's top-six single-match efforts of the year (.341 vs. Penn State Harrisburg and .310 vs. Gallaudet). She also led the way at the service line with 14 aces in just 11 sets of action. She established a new career-high with five aces against York (Pa.) before adding four against Penn State Harrisburg. With that performance, she became the first Captain to register at least four aces in back-to-back matches since former All-American Jessie Kolden accomplished the feat in 2011 ... Frostburg State junior Madelyn Torres capped a four-match week with 135 assists, 50 digs, three blocks, five aces and 21 kills. She opened the week with 46 assists, 19 digs and 11 kills in Frostburg's State's 3-2 win over Mt. Aloysius ... Freshman Savannah Powers helped Mary Washington to a trio of 3-0 wins last week. The Eagles gained their 25th win for the first time since 1997. Powers had 12 kills and 10 digs in a win at Bridgewater, and followed with nine kills and no errors in a win over Penn State-Harrisburg. She closed the week with 12 kills in a win over York. She hit .295 with 33 kills and 21 digs in the three matches ... Salisbury's Katie Stouffer helped the Sea Gulls to a 1-1 weekend at Washington College, totaling 41 kills including a season-high 28 in a tough five-set loss to host Washington College. It was the sixth time this season Stouffer has recorded 20 or more kills in a match ... Wesley's Tionne Graves-Brown led the Wolverines to a 2-0 week, recording a combined 22 kills and 22 digs. The junior added five aces, two assists and two blocks in the two matches.
