Christopher Newport University Sweeps C2C All-Sports Awards for Third Consecutive Year

Christopher Newport University claimed 11 titles among the 17 conference sports to sweep all three groups of the 2023-24 Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) All-Sports Award competition. The Captains finished on top of the standings in the Richard C. Cook All-Sports Award, the Men's Commissioner's Award and the Women's Commissioner's Award.
In addition to their 11 team championships, the CNU Captains compiled runner-up finishes in four sports to total a 91.6 percentage total in the Richard C. Cook All-Sports Award standings. CNU totaled 89.1% of the possible points in 10 women's sports and 85.5% in the seven men's sports to win the overall competition over UC Santa Cruz.
Christopher Newport captured team championships in women's soccer, field hockey, men's and women's indoor track and field, men's and women's basketball, baseball, women's tennis, softball, and women's outdoor track and field throughout the 2023-24 school year.
It marks the seventh overall and third straight C2C (formerly CAC) all-sports trophy for the Captains. The Women's Commissioner's Award is also the seventh overall for CNU, while they secured the Men's Commissioner's Award for the fifth time.
UC Santa Cruz placed second overall with two C2C titles in men's and women's cross country. The Banana Slugs compiled a 72.7 percentage in the all-sports standings, including 70.5% in the women's standings and 67.1% on the men's side which both ranked second.
Salisbury placed third in the Richard C. Cook All-Sports Award rankings with a 65.7 percentage. The Sea Gulls won two titles in women's volleyball and women's lacrosse to record a third place finish in the Women's Commissioner's Standings (68.2) and fourth in the Men's Commissioner's Standings (55.3).
Mary Washington tallied 63.5% to claim fourth place in the All-Sports standings. The Eagles won a pair of C2C titles in men's soccer and men's tennis. UMW placed third in the men's (65.8) and fourth in women's (57.3) standings.
Pratt (27.3) finished in fifth place with Mount Mary (26.0) and Warren Wilson (21.8) rounding out the standings.
