Salisbury’s Abby Mace and Christopher Newport’s Dylan Weber Claim C2C Athlete of the Year Honors

The 2023-24 Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference Athletes of the Year have been selected. The honorees are below:                        

Female Athlete of the Year: Abby Mace, Salisbury

Mace earned C2C Softball Player of the Year honors for the third time in her illustrious career at Salisbury.  She became a two-time All-American with National Fastpitch Coaches' Association's (NFCA) first team recognition after leading the Sea Gulls (39-7) to a third straight NCAA regional title.  Mace started all 46 games in center field with a .486 batting average and 1.079 slugging percentage with 20 doubles, three triples, 19 home runs, 52 RBIs, 70 runs scored, 35 stolen bases, and a 1.688 OPS.  She ended the season as the Division III leader in home runs, slugging average, and total bases (151) while ranking inside the top 40 in a dozen other categories.  Mace graduates with several C2C career records including home runs (65), runs (246), total bases (535), doubles (58), stolen bases (108), and walks (146).  Off the field, she earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Division III Academic All-American honors for the third time in her career, earning a spot on the first team.

Male Athlete of the Year: Dylan Weber, Christopher Newport

Weber claimed C2C Baseball Pitcher of the Year recognition for the second straight year to conclude his notable career at Christopher Newport.  He added first team ABCA and D3baseball.com All-American honors helping the Captains to a 29-12 overall record and the C2C title while advancing to the NCAA Super Regional for the first time in program history.  Weber was 9-2 with a 1.66 ERA and a Division III-leading 140 strikeouts in 2024.  He struck out 10 or more in seven of his 15 starts in a career-high 97.1 innings pitched with three saves.  Weber set the CNU and conference record in career strikeouts (404) and finished his career ranked fifth all-time in Division III.
