Salisbury’s Meghan Reed and Mary Washington’s Rishi Charan Shankar Named C2C Senior Scholar-Athletes of the Year

The 2023-24 Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference Senior Scholar-Athletes of the Year have been released. The recipients are below:

Female Senior Scholar-Athlete Award: Meghan Reed, Salisbury

Reed captured C2C Female Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year after helping Salisbury post a 39-7 overall record and win a third consecutive NCAA regional title.  The biomedical science major and a chemistry and cognitive science minor finished her Sea Gull tenure with a 3.938 GPA.  Reed was also the C2C Softball Scholar-Athlete of the Year and earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Division III Third-Team Academic All-American honors.  She started all 46 games at second base with a .389 batting average with nine doubles, one home run, 30 RBIs, 30 runs scored, and a .910 OPS.  Reed ranked in the C2C top five for batting average and RBI. 

Male Senior Scholar-Athlete Award: Rishi Charan Shankar, Mary Washington

Charan Shankar earned C2C Male Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year distinction after guiding the Eagles to the C2C men's tennis championship.  He picked up Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-America honors and advanced to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals while teaming with Peter Leese to break the school record for doubles wins (34) this year.  The computer science major and cybersecurity minor graduated with a 3.95 GPA.  For the second straight year, Charan Shankar was part of the C2C Doubles Team of the Year and ranked 11th nationally in doubles and 18th regionally in singles.
