Former CAC Baseball Player Of The Year Greg Ross Named To The 2014 Carolina League All-Star Team
Former Frostburg State All-American starting pitcher
Greg Ross has been named to the 2014 Carolina
League All-Star team, as announced by the league yesterday
afternoon.
Ross is currently in his second season with the Lynchburg Hillcats,
a class A advanced affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. This season,
Ross is 4-2 overall in nine starts with a 3.36 ERA. He is tied for
fourth in the league with 58 strikeouts and is fifth with 67.0
innings pitched.
An 18th round selection in the 2011 MLB draft by the
Atlanta Braves, Ross has totaled 13 wins and 149 strikeouts in 188
innings of work with the Hillcats over his two seasons.
Ross, a two-year standout for FSU and 2011 CAC Player of the Year,
posted an 11-2 overall record with a 1.49 ERA as a senior in 2011.
He tossed a team-high 90.0 innings with a school record 112
strikeouts.
The Carolina League All-Star game is scheduled for June 17 at
