The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the ninth week of the 2024 baseball season. Christopher Newport's Josh Reinhold captured C2C Player of the Week honors, while the Captains Brandon Cassedy was tabbed C2C Pitcher of the Week.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Josh Reinhold, Christopher Newport

Reinhold recorded six hits in ten at-bats this week including a 4-for-5 showing against Mary Washington in the Captains' first C2C matchup of the spring. He delivered a no-doubt home run against Pfeiffer, blasting a two-run round tripper earlier in the week. Then, against the Eagles, Reinhold scored twice and added a double among his four hits. For the week, he slashed .600/.600/1.000, scored three times and drove in a pair. He was also perfect defensively at shortstop, picking up four assists and playing a part in two double plays.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Brandon Cassedy, Christopher Newport

Cassedy took the ball against first-place Mary Washington and spun another gem, adding to his Division III lead in strikeouts with 11 against the Eagles. He finished out 8.0 innings and scattered seven hits while allowing three runs on route to winning his sixth games of the season. The nationally-ranked Captains earned a 9-5 win over Mary Washington behind Cassedy's fourth straight game with 10+ strikeouts and fifth overall this year.

PITCHER: Cole Williams, Salisbury; Jamie Kotula, Mary Washington

C2C HIGHLIGHTS

Zach Geesaman came off the bench to go 2-for-2 with a double, RBI, stolen base, and two runs scored in Salisbury's 8-4 victory over York (Pa.) on Thursday. Geesaman also caught a man stealing second base… Salisbury's Cole Williams earned his seventh win in the season, tossing 4.1 scoreless two-hit frames in relief and striking out four Spartans in an 8-4 victory over York (Pa.) on Thursday. Williams's seven wins are tops in the C2C and tie him for first in Division III.
