Kylor Berkman Named CAC Men's Lacrosse Player Of The Week

Salisbury junior midfielder KYLOR BERKMAN (Salisbury, Md./Parkside) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Mens Lacrosse Player of the Week for April 28, 2008 after scoring a game-high five points in Saturdays 15-11 War on the Shore non-conference victory against Washington College. Berkman, the 2008 CAC Player of the Year, had a goal and four assists to help the Sea Gulls complete their fifth-consecutive undefeated regular season and give his father, head coach Jim Berkman, his 236th career victory, which ties the mark for all-time career victories in collegiate mens lacrosse (all divisions).

Salisbury senior attack MATT HICKMAN (Darnestown, Md./Georgetown Prep) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Mens Lacrosse Player of the Week for April 14, 2008 after scoring five of SUs first seven goals, all in a 10-minute span, to help the Sea Gulls pull away from St. Marys quickly in Fridays battle for first place. Hickman finished with a game-high seven goals.

Salisbury senior attack GREG TITUS (Setauket, N.Y./Stony Brook) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Mens Lacrosse Player of the Week for April 7, 2008 after scoring a hat trick in two CAC victories this week. Titus.scored the top-ranked Sea Gulls game-winning goal in the third quarter of a mid-week win over Mary Washington, then kept SU alive with three key scores in Saturdays one-goal come-from-behind victory at 12th-ranked Villa Julie.

St. Mary's Fr. Dennis Rosson Named CAC Men's Lacrosse Player Of The Week

St. Marys freshman attack DENNIS ROSSON (Severna Park, Md./Severn) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Mens Lacrosse Player of the Week award for March 24, 2008 after piling up eight goals and 11 points in a pair of victories, snapping SMCs four-match losing streak, the teams longest since 2002. Rosson chipped in two goals and an assist in a CAC win over Marymount, then followed up with a career-best six goal and eight points in a non-conference triumph over Christopher Newport.

Salisbury junior goalie RILEY CLARK (Potomac, Md./St. Johns College) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Mens Lacrosse Player of the Week award for March 17, 2008 after rejecting 17 of 32 shots as the top-ranked Gulls outbattled Denison for a 6-3 win. Clark recorded seven saves on 13 Denison shots in the fourth quarter, giving the offense time to snap a 3-3 tie and attain the triumph.

Villa Julie sophomore attack STEVE KAZIMER (Syracuse, N.Y./Henniger) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Mens Lacrosse Player of the Week award for Feb. 25, 2008 after recording a game-high seven points in a 13-10 season-opening victory over St. Marys. Kazimer put five shots in the cage, including several in the fourth period to keep the Mustangs in the lead.

The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its 2008 NCAA Division III men's lacrosse coaches' preseason poll and the defending national champion Salisbury University Sea Gulls check-in at No. 1. This is the third preseason poll that SU has been selected as the top team in Division III.
