Salisbury senior midfielder KYLOR BERKMAN (Salisbury, Md./Parkside) was named the CAC Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week after scoring a game-high four goals and adding an assist in the Sea Gulls’ 12-11 win over Washington College in the annual “War on the Shore.” The 2008 national Player of the Year and two-time national Midfielder of the Year assisted on the game-tying goal with 10 minutes leftin the game, then scored the unassisted game-winner with 4:34 left.

Stevenson junior attack RICHIE FORD (Baltimore, Md./Towson) was named the CAC Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week after scoring nine points on six goals and three assists in road wins at York and Salisbury. Ford scored three of his four goals vs. Salisbury during a key 5-0 run in the third quarter, helping the top-ranked Mustangs snap the Sea Gulls’ 105-game unbeaten streak against CAC rivals over the last 14 years.

York sophomore goalkeeper CHRIS COLLINS (Westminster, Md./Westminster) was named the CAC Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week after recording a career-high 22 saves as the Spartans threw a scare at top-ranked Salisbury in a midweek contest, then led YCP to its first-ever win over St. Mary’s. Collins allowed 13 goals on 51 shots against the two-time defending national champion Sea Gulls, then added 13 saves and surrendered just five scores on 32 attempts in 59 minutes against the Sea Hawks, who were held scoreless in the middle two periods.

Mary Washington sophomore goalkeeper RYAN KLEMAN (Fairfax, Va./Robinson) was named the CAC Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week after recording 32 saves, a 62.5 save percentage and allowing just 7.55 goals against in two non-conference wins. Kleman opened the week with 16 stops in a 12-7 win over SUNY-Plattsburgh, then rejected another 16 shots in a 12-4 win over Randolph-Macon, which was ranking among others receiving votes in last week’s USILA Top 20 poll.

Stevenson senior midfielder GREG FURSHMAN (Miami, Fla./Towson) was named the CAC Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week after contributing four goals, two assists, 10 ground balls and winning 20-of-29 faceoffs in the Mustangs’ wins over #2 Gettysburg and Ursinus last week. Furshman won 11-of-17 faceoffs, controlled six ground balls and scored the game-winning goal as the 7th-ranked Mustangs dominated the Bullets. He then chipped in three scores and his second assist of the week in the win at Ursinus.

He found the back of the cage 11times and dished out one assist as the top-ranked Sea Gulls defeated Wesley and Widener.

Salisbury senior midfielder KYLOR BERKMAN (Salisbury, Md./Parkside) was named the first CAC Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week for the 2009 season after eight goals and eight assists in the Sea Gulls’ first two games of the season. Berkman tallied four goals and five assists for a career-high nine points in the season-opening win over Scranton, then added four scores and three helpers in a victory over sixth-ranked Lynchburg.
