Mary Washington senior middie KOHL MEYER and York junior goalie TYLER POWELL were named the CAC Men’s Lacrosse Players of the Week. Meyer was named the Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week after totaling eight goals, four assists, 10 ground balls and a .565 face off percentage in a pair of CAC wins last week. He won 7-of-12 face offs and scored six points (4 G, 2 A) in a midweek victory over Hood, then added another four goals and two assists, plus 10 ground balls and 6-of-11 face offs, in Saturday’s win at Wesley that lifted the Eagles into position to host a first-round CAC playoff game. Powell was named the Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after recording 37 saves and a .616 save percentage in two games last week. He saved more than half the shots he faced in a midweek loss at second-ranked Salisbury, then denied Christopher Newport on 18 of 23 attempts on goal. He also recorded 11 ground balls and forced five turnovers in the two contests.

York sophomore attack JAMES LOWE and Mary Washington senior goalie RYAN KLEMAN were named the CAC Men’s Lacrosse Players of the Week. Lowe was named the Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week after contributing nine points on five goals and four assists in two CAC victories last week. His four points (3 G, 1 A) were critical to YCP’s 7-4 victory at St. Mary’s, the team’s second in 12 tries all time against the Sea Gulls. He added two scores and three helpers in against Wesley as the Spartans extended their win streak to five games. Kleman was named the Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week after recording 22 saves on 30 shots (.733 save percentage) in a pair of CAC wins last week, keeping the Eagles into fourth place in the CAC standings heading into the final two weeks of the regular season. He had 10 saves in a complete-game 9-8 victory over visiting Marymount, then recorded 12 stops in 54 shutout minutes of Saturday’s game against Frostburg State.

Salisbury junior attack MATT CANNONE and York junior goalie TYLER POWELL were named the CAC Men’s Lacrosse Players of the Week. Cannone was named the Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week after he found the back of the net five times, half of Salisbury’s scoring output, in a midweek victory at 8th-ranked Roanoke, then added five points (3 G, 2 A) in the Sea Gulls’ weekend victory vs. CAC rival Mary Washington. Powell was named the Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week after recording 26 saves, scooping up 14 ground balls and allowing only three goals in a pair of CAC victories to move the Spartans to the top of the standings. Powell had 12 saves (85.7%) against Hood, then held Marymount to just one score while posting 14 saves (93.3%).

Stevenson freshman midfielder TONY ROSSI and Stevenson senior defender EVAN DOUGLASS were named the CAC Men’s Lacrosse Players of the Week. Rossi found the back of the net five times in two games against Top 10 teams. He started the week with a pair of scores in a road win at 9th-ranked Roanoke, then equaled his career-best outing with three goals in Saturday’s 10-8 victory over 4th-ranked Cortland State. Rossi scored the game-tying goal early in the fourth quarter, then added the game-winner two minutes later to keep the second-ranked Mustangs undefeated. Douglas anchored the defensive end for Stevenson in the wins over Roanoke and Cortland State, causing seven turnovers and collecting seven ground balls in two games. He recorded his 100th career caused turnover Saturday in the come-from-behind win over the Red Dragons.

Stevenson senior midfielder RAY WITTE and Mary Washington junior goalie RYAN MONTGOMERY were named the CAC Men’s Lacrosse Players of the Week. Witte scored a pair of goals in Saturday’s 16-8 victory over Lynchburg, but was key in helping the Mustangs control the tempo of the game by winning 11 of 18 faceoffs (61.1%) during the contest. Montgomery took over as the starting netminder and contributed a pair of 11-save performances in non-conference victories for the Eagles. He boasted a .685 save percentage and added three ground balls to bolster the UMW defense.

Salisbury junior attackman ERIK KRUM and Salisbury senior goalie JOHNNY RODRIGUEZ were named the CAC Men’s Lacrosse Players of the Week. Krum outscored 12th-ranked Gettysburg Saturday, 3-2, as the third-ranked Sea Gulls improved to 5-0 for the season, 2-0 for the week. Krum also scored four goals in a midweek victory over McDaniel, giving him seven for the week. Rodriguez spearheaded the Sea Gulls’ 8-2 victory over 12th-ranked Gettysburg by recording 16 saves, an .889 save percentage and five ground balls. He also had two saves and a ground ball in 35 shutout minutes against McDaniel.

Stevenson senior attack JIMMY DAILEY and Salisbury senior defender COLLIN TOKOSCH were named the CAC Men’s Lacrosse Players of the Week. Dailey posted a pair of four-goal games and totaled 17 points in a pair of decisive victories for the Mustangs. He had four goals and four assists in a mid-week CAC win vs. Mary Washington, then added four scores and five helpers Saturday against Kean (N.J.). Tokosch matched his career-high with five caused turnovers, added three ground balls and played stellar defense in helping the Sea Gulls limit Washington & Lee to just four goals in a mid-week victory.

Salisbury junior midfielder SAM BRADMAN (Canton, N.Y./Canton) and Frostburg State freshman keeper THOMAS ISSERMOYER (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) were named the CAC Men’s Lacrosse Players of the Week for Feb. 21, 2011. Bradman totaled 15 points in Salisbury’s first two games of the season. After scoring four goals and three assists in a season-opening win over Greensboro, Bradman poured in a career-high eight goals in Salisbury’s 13-5 victory over seventh-ranked Lynchburg. Issermoyer was the rock on the defensive end in FSU’s first game in 30 years, registering seven saves while allowing just two scores in a victory at Shenandoah.
