Former Salisbury University men's lacrosse attackman Matt Cannone and defenseman Andrew Sellers have signed contracts with the Long Island Lizards and Rochester Rattlers, respectively, of the Major League Lacrosse League (MLL) on Wednesday.

St. Mary’s College (Md.) senior men’s lacrosse All-American Peter Windsor (Towson, Md./St. Paul’s) was selected by the Capital Athletic Conference athletic directors and sports information directors as the 2011-12 Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

The No. 1 Salisbury University men's lacrosse team capped off the program's seventh undefeated season and 10th National Championship on Sunday by defeating the State University of New York at Cortland in the 2012 NCAA Division III National Championship game, 14-10, at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. The team finished the season with a 23-0 record and ends the year riding a 30-game winning streak. Twenty-three wins matches the program record for most in a season and the national title is the 16th team title in Salisbury University history.

The CAC placed an amazing 23 players - representing Salisbury, Stevenson and St. Mary's (Md.) - on the 2012 U.s. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-America team. Salisbury placed 12 players on the 2012 All-America team while Stevenson had nine and St. Mary's had two.

Senior attackman Lantz Carter ripped a shot into the back of the net in the second quarter to break a 0-0 tie that lasted for the first 26:14 of the game as the No. 1 Salisbury University men's lacrosse team defeated No. 5 Stevenson University on Sunday, 7-2, in an NCAA tournament semifinal game to advance to the Division III national championship game.

For the third time in the last four years, Salisbury and Stevenson will do battle in the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championsihp tournament. For the second time in three years, the Gulls and Mustangs will meet in the national semifinal. Top-ranked Salisbury beat Cabrini, 14-4, while 5th-ranked Stevenson stopped Denison, 14-7, to set up Sunday's showdown at Salisbury for a trip to the national championship game.

The No. 1 Salisbury University men's lacrosse team is the Capital Athletic Conference champion for the 17th time after defeating No. 4 Stevenson University 12-9 on Saturday at Sea Gull Stadium. The contest was the final CAC tournament meeting between the two programs as Stevenson is moving to the Middle Atlantic Conference after this season. The Sea Gulls have won 17-of-18 conference titles since joining the CAC.
