Salisbury's Blondino Named ECAC South Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Year; SU's Nowesnick Earns First Team Honors

The Eastern College Athletic Conference released its 2017 Division III Men's Lacrosse Awards and All-ECAC South Region Selections on Tuesday morning. Salisbury men's lacrosse players Nathan Blondino and Will Nowesnick were both recognized by the organization as each were first-team selections. Blondino also earned top honors as he was named the ECAC South Region Offensive Player of the Year.   

Blondino has totaled 131 points this season in 22 games played scoring 60 goals and dishing out 71 assists. Currently Blondino sits in the top-10 in two different categories ranking fourth in the nation in points per game (5.95) and fifth in assists per game (3.23). In the Capital Athletic Conference he ranks first in points, first in assists, and third in goals behind teammates Nick Garbarino (67) and Carson Kalama (65).

This is the second top honor for Blondino as he was named the CAC Offensive Player of the Year. He was also tabbed as a First-Team All-CAC selection for the second consecutive season. This is also his second consecutive season being tabbed as an ECAC South Region First-Team selection.  

Joining Blondino on the first team is junior defenseman Nowesnick. He has currently played in 21 games totaling 42 caused turnovers, picking up a career-high 60 groundballs, and even tallied a goal and an assist. Nowesnick was also selected to the CAC first team this past season.

Salisbury returns to action on Sunday, May 28 and will take on the Rochester Institute of Technology at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts for the 2017 Division III Men's Lacrosse National Championship.
