Mary Washington Junior Alex Anderson Nabs Silver in 200 IM at NCAA Championships

Mary Washington junior Alex Anderson opened day one of the 2014 NCAA Swimming Championships in impressive fashion, taking second place in the 200 IM at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind.

Anderson completed the race in 1:47.75 to secure silver, setting new school and conference records along the way. 

One of two CAC men's swimmer competing in the national championships, along with York's Kyle Walthall, Anderson will defend his national title in the 400 IM tomorrow and also compete in the 100 fly on Friday. Anderson won the 400 IM last year with a time of 3:50.55, which is the current national record.
