UMW’s Ladehoff, Kimmey Claim C2C Tennis Player of the Week Laurels
The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the fourth week of the 2024 spring tennis season. Mary Washington junior Brock Ladehoff earned C2C Men's Tennis Player of the Week honors, while Eagles senior Hana Kimmey was named C2C Women's Tennis Player of the Week.
MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Brock Ladehoff, Mary Washington
Junior Brock Ladehoff turned in a pair of quality performances this Sunday as #37 Mary Washington began its spring break trip. He scored one of the three Eagle points in a 6-3 loss to #27 Pomona Pitzer, winning 6-1, 6-3 at three singles. In the Eagles' 5-3 win over UC Santa Cruz, Ladehoff scored a 6-1, 7-6 victory at two singles, and teamed with Trevor Rein for an 8-2 win at two doubles.
WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Hana Kimmey, Mary Washington
Senior Hana Kimmey helped #27 Mary Washington to a 5-4 win at Chapman in their opening match for spring break on Sunday. Kimmey teamed with Amanda Hagino at one doubles to score an 8-1 win, and then Kimmey provided the clinching point with a 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 win at two singles.

C2C HIGHLIGHTS
Vincent Truong picked up a pair of wins in Christopher Newport's only match of the week, a neutral site outing against UC Santa Cruz. Vincent paired with Nesh Kumaresan for an 8-7 (6) win at No. 1 doubles against Andrew Tjoa and Adam Hidas. He then earned a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles against Praneet Varade… Salisbury's Jhayden Pappas dominated in a pair of matches against Drew on Sunday. In first doubles he and Gianluca Beaujon rolled to an 8-1 victory. Then in first singles, Pappas cleaned up with a quick straight-sets win (6-2, 6-0)… UC Santa Cruz's Radin Sadeghi went 2-0 in doubles matches this weekend. Had a three-set win over Christopher Newport at No. 5 singles for key point in eventual 5-4 dual win for the Banana Slugs… Salisbury's Gibelle Beaujon won a tough three-set first singles match (2-6, 6-3, 6-4) against Sweet Briar on Sunday. She also pushed first doubles in an 8-5 loss.
