UMW’s Ladehoff and Felts Collect C2C Tennis Player of the Week Honors

The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the 12th week of the 2024 spring tennis season.  Mary Washington's Brock Ladehoff was named C2C Men's Tennis Player of the Week, while the Eagles Addison Felts claimed C2C Women's Tennis Player of the Week honors.


MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Brock Ladehoff, Mary Washington

Junior Brock Ladehoff led #22 Mary Washington to a pair of wins over nationally ranked opponents this week with a pair of singles wins. On Wednesday, Ladehoff scored a 6-4, 6-2 win over Tudor Vlad of #41 Va. Wesleyan at three singles in a 7-2 Eagle win, and on Sunday, with the team score tied at 4-4, claimed a thrilling 3-6, 6-1, 7-6 (7-3) win over Adrian Tsui of #21 TCNJ at two singles, giving UMW the team win.


WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Addison Felts, Mary Washington

Freshman Addison Felts led #24 Mary Washington with four wins in as many matches this week. On Wednesday, she claimed a 6-0, 6-0 win at one singles over Tuva Flink of Va. Wesleyan, and she also teamed with Emily Beckner for an 8-0 win at two doubles. On Saturday at #18 Washington & Lee, Felts accounted for two of the Eagles' four points, scoring an 8-5 win at two doubles and a 6-3, 6-4 win over Grace Lorenz at three singles.

C2C HIGHLIGHTS

Gianluca Beaujon won a pair of matches during Salisbury's 8-1 takedown of Harford CC on Saturday. He and Jhayden Pappas outlasted a tough Fighting Owl duo in first doubles, winning 8-7 (7-4). In second singles, Beaujon rolled to a 6-2, 6-0 straight-sets dub… Christopher Newport's Vincent Truong won both of his matches against nationally ranked Virginia Wesleyan as the Captains closed out the regular season with the most wins since 2019 ... Paired with Nesh Kumaresan for an 8-7 (7-5) win at No. 1 doubles against Ole Behrmann and Felix Bevc ... Also defeated Bevc at No. 1 singles in a 6-2, 6-2 final… Sarah Cooper won four matches during Salisbury's two sweeps of Stevenson and Harford CC. Cooper and Hannah Carter won both of their second doubles tilts by 8-0 margins. Playing second singles twice, Cooper beat her Stevenson foe 6-0, 6-1, and cruised through her Harford competition 6-1, 6-0.
