Salisbury Wins Third Straight CAC Men's Cross Country Championship

Salisbury Wins Third Consecutive CAC Men's Cross Country Championship 

YORK, PA - Salisbury University won the 2007 Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) men's cross country championship on Saturday afternoon. It is the third consecutive conference title for the Sea Gulls and their seventh overall.

Senior Eric Graves crossed the finish line first overall as he won by 30 seconds with a time of 26:04. Fellow senior Buck Stokes finished third overall and earned first-team All-CAC honors with a time of 26:44. SU's Zack Dickerson and Chris Barnard joined Graves and Stokes as first-team All-CAC runners as they finished fifth and sixth, respectively. Dickerson and Barnard were separated by a mere tenth of a second as each runner ran finished with a time of 27:02.

Mary Washington finished second with 33 points, just seven points behind the Sea Gulls.  York (Pa.) finished in third place with 84 points while Hood College finished fourth with 117 points. Wesley College (146 points) and Marymount (161 points) rounded out the field. Villa Julie had just three runners participate as they did not register a team score.

The championship race featured 68 participants.
