Cross Country Teams Run Final Races To Prepare For 2010 CAC Championship Races

Salisbury led three CAC teams that competed in Elizabethtown's Battle for the Buggy while Hood led three CAC teams at the Hood Open to highlight the last weekend of competition as teams prepare for the 2010 CAC cross country championships (Nov. 6 at Salisbury).

At Elizabethtown, Kristin Stromberg and Becca Stinner finished fifth and sixth, respectively, leading Salisbury to the women's team title.  York finished third in the team standings.

In the men's race at E-town, Ryan Jackson finished fifth and Trent Seawell crossed the finish line eighth to lead the Sea Gulls to second place in the team standings.  York placed fifth and Frostburg State was sixth in the 11-team event.

At Hood, Dan Jacobs won the individual crown in leading the host Blazers to the top spot in the standings that also included Stevenson (second) and Marymount (fourth).

In the women's chase, Marymount's Jessica Daley took captured individual honors, but second-place finisher Alyssa Peterson Hood to the team title.  MU finished second and Stevenson was third in the four-team meet.

Friday, Mary Washington placed third in the men's standings and second in the women's standings at the Mount Olive Invitational.  Scott Plunkett (sixth) and Chris Marino (seventh) led the UMW men while Liz Green (fourth) and Sarah Dawes (seventh) paced the Eagles' women's squad.
