Salisbury, Southern Virginia, Wesley And York Compete In Men's Cross Country Action Saturday

York as second, Southern Virginia was fourth and Salisbury was eighth in the team standings as CAC men’s cross country teams competed in four different meets Saturday.

Salisbury competed this past weekend at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational in Dartmouth, Md. to achieve an 8th place overall win.  Freshman Kyle Tockman was the first Seagull to score for Salisbury at 25:27.60.  This time was more than a minute faster than his first collegiate race two weeks ago at home. 

Southern Virginia raced at the James Madison Invitational.  They placed 4th overall.  Sophomore Patrick Gonzalez finished first for the Knights for a time of 27:02.50 and 14th place.  Freshman Ben Houldridge also scored points for the Knights, coming in 29th with a time of 29:25.20. 

Wesley made the trip to Princess Anne, Md. to race against Division I schools at the Cappy Anderson Invitational.  The first to complete the 8K course for the Wolverines was senior Alex Dello Buono at 32:30.56.  He was proceeded by Freshmen Evan Collotti (37:39.59) and Patrick Wittle (37:52.15), who raced their first collegiate 8K. 

York hosted the 4th annual Rich Achtzehn Classic at John Rudy Park.  The men’s team placed second overall.  Junior Tim Hartung led the Spartans, coming in at 27:40.65 and was trailed by Junior Aaron Robertson with 27:43.78. 

Most CAC teams will compete in a conference championship preview meet at Frostburg State on Sept. 22.
