York, Christopher Newport Nab Top-Three Finishes at CNU Invitational; St. Mary's 2nd at Hood Open, Salisbury 5th at Gettysburg

Just two weeks shy of the 2013 Capital Athletic Conference Championships, all 10 of the CAC men's cross country teams took to the course on Saturday in the final tuneup prior to the championship meet for most of the squads. 

At the CNU Invitational, York and host Christopher Newport finished second and third, respectively. York's Tim Hartung led the way individually, placing eight in the 122-runner field in 25:52.6. Christopher Newport's Samuel Martin (14th) and J.J. LaPointe (16th) also recorded top-20 finishes. 

St. Mary's claimed second place at the Hood Open, while Mary Washington competed at the Connecticut College Invitational, taking 13th. 

Six CAC teams traveled to Gettysburg for the Gettysburg Invitational, with Salisbury delivering the top CAC finish in fifth. Frostburg State (13th) and Southern Virginia (15th) also notched top-15 placings. Salisbury's Thomas Burke was the top CAC finisher in 14th out of 281 competitors.
