Salisbury sophomore 1B ALI RITTER (Belvidere, N.J./Belvidere) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week award for April 28, 2008 after belting out a double and three singles and knocked in five runs in six trips to the plate in a non-conference DH sweep at Gettysburg.

Salisbury sophomore SS KELLY WASKEWICZ (Olney, Md./St. John’s) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week award for April 14, 2008 after leading the Sea Gulls to a 5-1 week against the top three other teams in the CAC standings by hitting .571 (12-for-21) with two doubles, four home runs, nine runs scored, 11 RBI and five stolen bases. Waskewicz set a conference record with 15 total bases, tied the CAC record for hits in a game (four) and drilled what is believed to be a tie for the CAC record three homers in a game Sunday against Hood.

York sophomore shortstop HEATHER BORMANN (Brick, N.J./Brick Memorial) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week award for April 7, 2008 after hitting .593 (16-for-27) with two doubles, a triple, a homer, 12 runs scored and five RBI, leading the Spartans to a 7-1 record last week, including two CAC wins to remain undefeated in conference play. Bormann was also the CAC Player of the Week on March 3, 2008.

York senior pitcher MEGAN MICKLES (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week award for March 31, 2008 after leading the Spartans to a 6-0 week as YCP stayed undefeated in CAC play. Mickles threw consecutive complete-game shutouts at NCAA Div. II Millersville and Villa Julie and ended the week with just three runs allowed in 21 innings on nine hits and nine walks while striking out 29.

Hood junior pitcher JAMIE GARDNER (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week award for March 17, 2008 after winning six of eight games pitched last week, including six complete games with 29 strikeouts and two shutouts, as the Blazers moved into second place in the CAC. Gardner also contributed at the plate with a .318 batting average, including two homers, six runs scored and six RBI.

Salisbury junior pitcher STACY DAVIS (Westminster, Md./Westminster) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week award for March 10, 2008 after throwing 14 shutout innings and picking up two victories, allowing just five hits and four walks while fanning 18, and contributing 5-for-8 at the plate with four runs, five RBI and a home run for the Sea Gulls.

York sophomore shortstop HEATHER BORMANN (Brick, N.J./Brick Memorial) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week award for March 3, 2008 after hitting .688 in the Spartans’ season-opening tournament appearance in the Virginia Wesleyan Beach Bash. Bormann ripped a double, scored seven runs, drove in four and stole two bases in leading the Green and White to a 3-1 record.
