Salisbury Softball Sweeps York To Finish CAC Slate Undefeated; Mary Washington Gains #2 Seed In Playoffs With DH Split Vs. Frostburg State

Salisbury picked up a pair of eight-run victories over York Saturday to finish the 2012 CAC slate with a perfect 12-0 record and enter the conference playoffs as the No. 1 seed. 

Mary Washington split Saturday's twinbill vs. Frostburg State, giving the Eagles the No. 2 seed in the playoffs and FSU the No. 3 seed.

Salisbury topped York, 8-0 and 9-1, to improve to 31-5 overall, 12-0 in the CAC.  The Sea Gulls will be the top seed in the playoffs and host sixth-seeded Hood Tuesday in the first round of the playoffs.

Mary Washington won the opener of Saturday's twinbill vs. Frostburg State, 2-0, to clinch the No. 2 seed in the playoffs.  FSU bounced back in the nightcap for a 13-4 decision to lock up the No. 3 seed. 

UMW (22-16, 9-3 CAC) will host fifth-seeded Stevenson (14-20, 4-8 CAC) Tuesday in the opening round of the playoffs while Frostburg State (18-14, 8-4 CAC) will entertain fourth-seeded York (11-19, 6-6 CAC).

The second round of the playoffs will be held Thursday (4/19) at the home field of the highest seeded teams, then advance to the highest remaining seed after Thursday's competition for the weekend tournament to crown the 2012 champion.
