Briefly, what is your background in the sport you play?

I was introduced to the sport of Softball at age 16. Before that time I played little league baseball and then transitioned into softball with little league, travel and the played softball my senior year of high school.

What is your major in college, and what is the most important thing you learned in that discipline?

Exercise Science. The human body is one of the most interesting machines. Networking is huge, persistence and determination will carry you far.

What is your favorite spot on campus?

The locker room because being a two sport athlete I basically live there and it’s a great place to relax before practice and games.

Outside of your home and campus, where is your favorite place visit?

Chesapeake City MD/ The Delaware beaches, I love the beach and being able to watch the waves and the water relaxes me.

Other than your team, what organization (s) do you participate in (on campus or off campus)?

I am currently in the National Society of Leadership chapter at Wesley College, the Vice President of the Wesley SAAC committee, and I am also a Student Ambassador. I am an avid volunteer in the Special Olympics of Delaware and continue to play indoor and summer softball as well as field hockey.

Briefly describe the most memorable experience during your collegiate athletic career.

Field Hockey: when we beat Salisbury in the CAC semifinal championship game my freshman year, after double overtime and a shootout to declare a winner.

Softball: Hitting back to back game homeruns my sophomore year, after coming out of a hitting slump.

Realizing that every game, every at bat every save, every diving catch is an opportunity I dreamed of and was able to make a reality.

Other than your family members, who was the most influential person in your life?

All of the coaches I have had through the years from high school to travel to college have taught me so much. I cannot express how grateful I am to have been taught the most important things about sports and apply them to life from my coaches.

What is the most important societal issue facing college students?

I believe the growth and expansion of social media is a strong issue for college students. Knowing that one text, tweet, picture can ruin everything you have worked so hard for within a matter of minutes. As a college athlete, I am not only representing myself, my family and my school, but also my team and my teammates.

If you could change any one item in the world (in your personal life, school, community, amateur or professional sports, national/international issue, etc.), what would it be, why, and how would you do it?

Sportsmanship and just getting back to having a love for the game. In today’s society everyone is so wrapped up in themselves and the amount of money they are, could be, or should be making. The greatest gift is waking up every day and being able to play the sports I love, with great teammates and coaches.

What is your favorite form of entertainment?

Being a dual sport athlete at Wesley College, I love sports. If we aren’t practicing then I’m normally in the gym kicking a soccer ball around or shooting hoops. I love working out and staying in great shape. I also enjoy kayaking, hiking and rock climbing in my free time. Through the summers, I work at the YMCA summer camps and I enjoy being a counselor and a role model for kids.

If you could give one piece of advice to elementary school children, what would that advice be?

Never Give Up! A dream can soon turn into reality with hard work and dedication, you have everything you need, just use the tools given.

Outside of the CAC, who or what is your favorite sports person or team?

I am a huge fan of Elena Delle Donne. When I was a freshman in high school she was a senior at Ursuline Academy, watching her have such poise and control was incredible for a tall girl out of Delaware. Now being able to see how much she has accomplished in the WNBA is inspiring.

Name three (3) people, real or fictional, living or dead, that you'd like to have dinner with (and why)?

My Grandfather- was my rock through most of my life and passed away my freshman year of college.

Muhammed Ali- His arrogance and strength to back up everything he said.

Sam Hunt- I love country music and knowing that Sam was an athlete before taking the music industry route.
