The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the seventh week of the 2024 softball season.  Salisbury's Natalie Paoli claimed C2C Player of the Week honors, while the Sea Gulls Nicole Ortega was named C2C Pitcher of the Week.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Natalie Paoli, Salisbury

Starting at shortstop and batting cleanup in both games of a doubleheader with No. 11 Virginia Wesleyan, Paoli racked up four hits over two games with nine RBIs while keeping a clean sheet in the field. In game one, Paoli hit a grand slam against the Marlins, as well as a two-run single. In game two, the shortstop hit a two run double to put the Sea Gulls up by four runs, then provided the game winning sacrifice bunt in the sixth inning that drove in a runner.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Nicole Ortega, Salisbury

Pitched in both games of a doubleheader against visiting No. 11 Virginia Wesleyan, drawing the start in game one and appeared in relief of game two, while earning the win in both. In game one against the Marlins, Ortega pitched three innings of no run ball, striking out one and no hits against. In game two, Ortega was called upon to pitch 1.2 innings after Virginia Wesleyan tied the game in the sixth with a three-run homer but settled the Sea Gull defense to earn her ninth win of the season.

PLAYER: Aminah Shakir, Mary Washington

PITCHER: Caitlyn Burch, Mary Washington

C2C HIGHLIGHTS

In her lone start this week, Mary Washington's Caitlyn Burch yielded just one earned run in a complete game against No. 9 Randolph-Macon on Saturday. In 7.1 innings, the senior struck out five and was perfect in the field with one putout and three assists.
