The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the eighth week of the 2024 softball season.  Christopher Newport's Jules Donnelly was named C2C Player of the Week, while the Captains Jamie Martin earned C2C Pitcher of the Week recognition.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jules Donnelly, Christopher Newport

Donnelly led Christopher Newport to a 3-1 week by hitting .750 (6 for 8), and also scoring four times and stealing five bases. Donnelly registered a 1.125 slugging percentage and a .778 on base percentage and drove in two runs. Three of her six hits were doubles, and she stole her five bases without being caught.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Jamie Martin, Christopher Newport

Martin had a 2-0 week for the ninth-ranked Captains and didn't allow a run in 11 innings of pitching. She shut out Roanoke on Thursday, 7-0, in a complete-game effort that saw her give up just three hits while striking out six. On Sunday, she threw four scoreless innings at Meredith, in an 8-0 CNU victory, yielding no runs on one hit with seven strikeouts. She improved to 5-1 on the year with the two wins.

C2C HIGHLIGHTS

Salisbury's Emily Challender had four hits in five at bats over two games against McDaniel. In game one was a perfect three-for-three at the plate with a walk, a double and a stolen base. Also had a double in game two for an RBI… Salisbury's Nicole Ortega picked up a win against McDaniel with 5.2 innings pitched of no run ball, striking out seven while allowing just one walk and allowing opposing batters to hit just .158 against.
