The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the 12th week of the 2024 softball season.  Christopher Newport's Candace Slaw earned C2C Player of the Week honors, while the Captains Jamie Martin captured C2C Pitcher of the Week distinction.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Candace Slaw, Christopher Newport

Slaw posted four hits in five at bats on Saturday in Christopher Newport's doubleheader sweep over top-ranked Salisbury. Slaw, CNU's leadoff hitter, had two singles in each game, scored two runs, and also stole three bases as the Captains snapped a 29-game Salisbury winning streak while extending their own winning streak to 15 games heading into the C2C Tournament.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Jamie Martin, Christopher Newport

Jamie Martin earned a victory and a save in CNU's doubleheader sweep on Saturday over top-ranked Salisbury. She improved her record to 10-1 in the opener by throwing a complete game, allowing just one run on four hits. She struck out eight while walking two. In the nightcap, Martin entered in relief in the seventh inning, retiring the Sea Gulls in order for her first save of the season. Martin had her consecutive scoreless innings streak snapped at 34 innings when the Sea Gulls scored their lone run in the second inning of the opener, but she recovered to hold SU scoreless for six more innings in the twin bill.
