Mary Washington Junior Brianne Comden Earns WBCA Honorable Mention All-America Honors

Complete WBCA All-America Team

Mary Washington junior center Brianne Comden has been named as an honorable mention All-American by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) on Friday evening.

Comden, who gained first team All-Capital Athletic Conference honors after leading the league with 15.5 points per game, had an eventful season as Mary Washington returned to the NCAA Tournament after winning the CAC Championship.

Comden shot 58.4% from the field for the season, and netted her career high of 28 points against Frostburg State and matched a month later against St. Mary's. She surpassed the 1,000 point plateau in that game in the CAC Tournament, before the Eagles downed second seeded Christopher Newport and top-seeded Marymount for the league title.

Comden becomes the seventh All-American in program history, and first since Katie Wimmer in 2012.
