2023 C2C Women's Basketball All-Conference Awards Announced

The 2023 Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Women's Basketball awards have been announced. The following are this year's honorees, as voted on by the league's head coaches:

Player of the Year & Defensive Player of the Year: Natalie Bartle - Finlandia
Finlandia junior Natalie Bartle averaged 21.4 points per contest to lead the C2C in scoring during the regular season. She has scored in double-figures in 21 games with a streak of 13 games and has recorded five double-doubles. Bartle also accumulated 7.1 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.9 steals per game for the Lions. Bartle was named C2C Player of the Week twice and has broken the school record for steals in a game (13) and season (85) as well as the season mark for field goals made (182).  She leads the C2C in assists, scoring and steals and ranks second in free throw percentage.

Rookie of the Year: Deja Rivers - Mount Mary
Mount Mary freshman Deja Rivers is averaging 16.9 points and 9.3 rebounds per game through 24 contests. She is also shooting 42.5 percent from the floor. Rivers poured in a season-high 30 points against Finlandia on February 10th, her sixth 20-plus point performance of the season.  Her 406 points this season is second all time at MMU and she stands just 22 rebounds short of the MMU single season record. She is fourth in the C2C in points per game, third in rebounds per game and 11th in overall field goal percentage.

Scholar-Athlete of the Year: Tess Oakley-Stilson, UC Santa Cruz
On the court, UC Santa Cruz senior guard Tess Oakley-Stilson has been an amazing teammate and sparkplug in the Banana Slugs going 33-9 the past two years. In the classroom, she has been just as if not more accomplished. The senior is majoring in literature, while also completing her minor in biology after this quarter. Oakley-Stilson averaged 8.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game for the Banana Slugs during the regular season.

"Bill Finney" C2C Coaching Staff of the Year: Christopher Newport, Head Coach: Bill Broderick (fourth time):
Head Coach Bill Broderick and his staff guided the Captains to a perfect 24-0 regular season in 2022-23. Christopher Newport is ranked No. 1 in the nation while leading Division III in scoring margin, outpacing opponents by an average of 36.8 points per game. CNU recorded the second straight undefeated run through the regular season and has improved to 50-1 since the start of 2021-22. Broderick collects his fourth Coach of the Year recognition
